Thus, development in enhanced electronic control gears for fluorescent lamps is clearly going towards more intelligent functionality. As far back as the year 2000, BAG equipment with multi-lamp technology was introduced to the market – a trend that has others in the market who are continuing to follow. At the light+building fair, the idea of multi-functionality is continued with the newly-developed twingle dim technology for compact fl uorescent lamps that permits selective operation from one or two lamps from the same ballast. The devices from this new BCD product range are alternatively fi tted with a 1-10 V- or a DALI interface. By means of their particularly compact construction, they also comply to the trend for miniaturisation that provides light manufacturers with the largest possible freedom in design.
It is also in the area of the linear fl uorescent lamps T5 and T8 that BAG is taking this development into account. The new BCS ballast range does not just feature a new switching design, but also a reduced length of housing.
